Now Pilate summoned to himself the chief priests, the rulers, and the people,
Luke 23:13
And Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people,
and he said to them, "You brought this Man to me on the ground that He is inciting the people to revolt; and behold, after examining Him before you, I have found no basis at all in the case of this Man for the charges which you are bringing against Him.
Luke 23:14
Said unto them, Ye have brought this man unto me, as one that perverteth the people: and, behold, I, having examined him before you, have found no fault in this man touching those things whereof ye accuse him:
"No, nor has Herod, for he sent Him back to us; and behold, nothing deserving death has been done by Him.
Luke 23:15
No, nor yet Herod: for I sent you to him; and, lo, nothing worthy of death is done unto him.
"Therefore I will punish Him and release Him."
Luke 23:16
I will therefore chastise him, and release him.
