Jesus went out from there and came into His hometown; and His disciples followed Him.
Mark 6:1
And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him.
And when the Sabbath came, He began to teach in the synagogue; and the many listeners were astonished, saying, "Where did this Man learn these things, and what is this wisdom that has been given to Him, and such miracles as these performed by His hands?
Mark 6:2
And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?
"Is this not the carpenter, the son of Mary and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are His sisters not here with us?" And they took offense at Him.
Mark 6:3
Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.
Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not dishonored except in his hometown and among his own relatives, and in his own household."
Mark 6:4
But Jesus, said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
And He could not do any miracle there except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them.
Mark 6:5
And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
And He was amazed at their unbelief. And He was going around the villages, teaching.
Mark 6:6
And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.
