God, You are my God; I shall be watching for You; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and exhausted land where there is no water.
Psalms 63:1
O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
So have I seen You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and glory.
Psalms 63:2
To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
Because Your favor is better than life, My lips will praise You.
Psalms 63:3
Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
So I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.
Psalms 63:4
Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.
My soul is satisfied as with fat and fatness, And my mouth offers praises with joyful lips.
Psalms 63:5
My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:
When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches,
Psalms 63:6
When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.
For You have been my help, And in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy.
Psalms 63:7
Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
My soul clings to You; Your right hand takes hold of me.
Psalms 63:8
My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
But those who seek my life to destroy it, Will go into the depths of the earth.
Psalms 63:9
But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
They will be turned over to the power of the sword; They will be a prey for foxes.
Psalms 63:10
They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.
But the king will rejoice in God; Everyone who swears by Him will boast, For the mouths of those who speak lies will be stopped.
Psalms 63:11
But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.
Then David and his men, about six hundred, rose up and departed from Keilah, and they went wherever they could go. When it was reported to Saul that David had escaped from Keilah, he gave up the pursuit.
1 Samuel 23:13
Then David and his men, which were about six hundred, arose and departed out of Keilah, and went whithersoever they could go. And it was told Saul that David was escaped from Keilah; and he forbare to go forth.
David stayed in the wilderness in the strongholds, and remained in the hill country in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul searched for him every day, but God did not hand him over to him.
1 Samuel 23:14
And David abode in the wilderness in strong holds, and remained in a mountain in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him every day, but God delivered him not into his hand.
