I heard and trembled within; my lips quivered at the sound. Decay entered my bones; I trembled where I stood. Yet I must wait patiently for the day of distress to come upon the people who invade us.

yet I will exult in the LORD; I will rejoice in the God of my salvation!

The LORD within her is righteous; He does no wrong. He applies His justice morning by morning; He does not fail at dawn, yet the unjust knows no shame.

that this is what the LORD of Hosts says: "These people say, 'The time has not yet come to rebuild the house of the LORD.'"

Is there still seed in the barn? The vine, the fig, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not yet yielded fruit. But from this day on, I will bless you."

This is what the LORD of Hosts says: "Peoples will yet come-the residents of many cities-

"I have loved you," says the LORD. But you ask, "How have You loved us?" "Was not Esau Jacob's brother?" declares the LORD. "Yet Jacob I have loved,

"A son honors his father, and a servant his master. But if I am a father, where is My honor? And if I am a master, where is your fear of Me?" says the LORD of Hosts to you priests who despise My name. Yet you ask, "How have we despised Your name?"

Yet you ask, "Why?" It is because the LORD has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have broken faith, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant.

You have wearied the LORD with your words; yet you ask, "How have we wearied Him?" By saying, "All who do evil are good in the sight of the LORD, and in them He delights," or, "Where is the God of justice?"

Yet from the days of your fathers, you have turned away from My statutes and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you," says the LORD of Hosts. But you ask, "How can we return?"

"Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me!" You ask, "How do we rob You?" "In tithes and offerings.

You are cursed with a curse, yet you-the whole nation-are still robbing Me.

"Your words against Me have been harsh," says the LORD. "Yet you ask, 'What have we spoken against You?'

Look at the birds of the air: They do not sow or reap or gather into barns-and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was adorned like one of these.

The rain fell, the torrents raged, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because its foundation was on the rock.

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father.

Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has risen no one greater than John the Baptist. Yet even the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

Or haven't you read in the Law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple break the Sabbath and yet are innocent?
