While Pilate was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent him this message: "Have nothing to do with that innocent man, for I have suffered terribly in a dream today because of Him."

The people were astonished at His teaching, because He taught as one who had authority, and not as the scribes.

And He healed many who were ill with various diseases and drove out many demons. But He would not allow the demons to speak, because they knew who He was.

Jesus made this statement because they were saying, "He has an unclean spirit."

Some fell on rocky ground, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow.

But when the sun rose, the seedlings were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.

But they themselves have no root, and they remain for only a season. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away.

And as soon as the grain is ripe, he swings the sickle, because the harvest has come."

because Herod feared John and protected him, knowing he was a righteous and holy man. When he heard John's words, he was greatly perplexed; yet he listened to him gladly.

The king was overwhelmed with sorrow, but because of his oaths and his guests, he did not want to refuse her.

When Jesus stepped ashore and saw a large crowd, He had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. And He began to teach them many things.

He could see that the disciples were straining to row, because the wind was against them. About the fourth watch of the night, Jesus went out to them, walking on the sea. He intended to pass by them,

because it does not enter his heart, but it goes into the stomach and then is eliminated." (Thus all foods are clean.)

Then Jesus told her, "Because of this answer, you may go. The demon has left your daughter."

"I have compassion for this crowd, because they have already been with Me three days and have nothing to eat.

because He was teaching His disciples. He told them, "The Son of Man will be delivered into the hands of men. They will kill Him, and after three days He will rise."

John said to Him, "Teacher, we saw someone else driving out demons in Your name, and we tried to stop him, because he does not accompany us."

Indeed, if anyone gives you even a cup of water because you bear the name of Christ, truly I tell you, he will never lose his reward.

But Jesus told them, "Moses wrote this commandment for you because your hearts were hard.

But the man was saddened by these words and went away in sorrow, because he had great wealth.
