And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years:

and let them be for lights in the firmament of heaven to give light on the earth: and it was so.

And God said, Look, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food:

and to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the heavens, and to everything that creeps on the earth, wherein there is life, [I have given] every green herb for food: and it was so.

And no plant of the field was yet in the earth, and no herb of the field had yet sprung up; for Yahweh God had not caused it to rain on the earth: and the man was not [there] to till the ground;

And out of the ground made Yahweh God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it: for in the day that you eat thereof you shall surely die.

And Yahweh God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make a matching helper for him.

And the man gave names to all cattle, and to the birds of the heavens, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there wasn't found a matching helper for him.

for God knows that in the day you eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be as God, knowing good and evil.

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate.

And to Adam he said, Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten of the tree, of which I commanded you, saying, You shall not eat of it: cursed is the ground for your sake; in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life;

in the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, until you return to the ground; for out of it were you taken: for dust you are, and to dust you shall return.

And Yahweh God made for Adam and for his wife coats of skins, and clothed them.

And Yahweh said to him, Therefore whoever slays Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And Yahweh appointed a sign for Cain, lest anyone finding him should smite him.

And Lamech said to his wives: Adah and Zillah, hear my voice; You wives of Lamech, listen to my speech: For I have slain a man for wounding me, And a young man for bruising me:

And Adam had sex with his wife; and she bore a son, and named him Seth. For, [she said], God has appointed me another seed instead of Abel; for Cain slew him.

and Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

that the sons of God saw the daughters of man that they were fair; and they took for themselves wives of all that they chose.

And Yahweh said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the ground; both man and beast, and creeping things, and birds of the heavens; for it repents me that I have made them.
