מַרְחֶשְׁוָן

That they may be completely one, and the world thus realize that you sent me (John 17:23).

Amazing! The Messiah made the unity of his people the key to his redemptive purpose on earth. Before going to Gat-Shemanim (Gethsemane), he prayed the above prayer. Many believers in Yeshua have taught that unity is to be feared. Unity is sometimes decried as the world system of the anti-Messiah. Let us recognize that false unity which comes from the evil one is the counterfeit of true unity which comes from the Messiah. Yeshua's prayer will definitely be answered.

Rabbi Sha'ul (Saul; i.e., Paul) also tells us that God's appointed leadership is a means for bringing us to unity, to "the standard of maturity set by the Messiah's perfection" (Ephesians 4:13). Unity is born of shared commitments and values that are foundational and convictional. Such a unity is shared between Yeshua and the Father. This unity will encompass every biblical congregation, in every city and every nation. The result will be that the world will believe in Yeshua. We will see the unity of Israel and the nations under the rule of the Messiah in the Olam HaBa (Age to Come). Do you share God's heart for the unity expressed in Yeshua's prayer?

...help usher in tikkun ha'olam (world restoration) by praying for the unity of Yeshua's body on earth.
