1: κακοπαθέω

(Strong's #2553 — Verb — kakopatheo — kak-op-ath-eh'-o )

"to suffer evil," is translated "suffer hardship" in three places in the RV, 2 Timothy 2:3 (in some mss.; see No. 2), AV, "endure hardness;" 2 Timothy 2:9 , AV, "suffer trouble;" 2 Timothy 4:5 , AV, "endure affliction;" in James 5:13 , RV, "suffering" (AV, "afflicted"). 2: συγκακοπαθέω

(Strong's #4777 — Verb — sunkakopatheo — soong-kak-op-ath-eh'-o )

"to suffer hardship with," is so rendered in 2 Timothy 1:8 , RV, AV, "be thou partaker of the afflictions" (of the Gospel), and, in the best mss., in 2 Timothy 2:3 , "suffer hardship with me." See AFFLICTION , No. 3, Note.
