AMMIEL (‘kinsman is God’). 1 . Son of Gemalli, and spy of the tribe of Dan ( Numbers 13:12 (P [Note: Priestly Narrative.] )). 2 . Father of Machir ( 2 Samuel 9:4 f., 2 Samuel 17:27 ). 3 . The sixth son of Obed-edom, who with his family constituted one of the courses of doorkeepers in the time of David; to them was allotted charge of the S. gate (of the Temple) and the storehouse ( 1 Chronicles 26:1-32 , esp. 1 Chronicles 26:5; 1 Chronicles 26:15 ). 4 .
