Bohemian chief rabbi, rosh yeshibah, and liturgist; died at Prague Oct. 7, 1542. He wrote a super-commentary on Rashi to the Pentateuch, mentioned by David Gans ("Ẓemaḥ Dawid," p. 44a); and glosses to the "Ṭur Oraḥ Ḥayyim" (see Zunz, "Z. G." p. 273). According to Michael ("Or ha-Ḥayyim," p. 11), Ḳara wrote glosses to all the four Ṭurim, a part of which was printed in the Augsburg edition of the Ṭurim in 1540; and a seliḥah beginning with the words "Ana Elohe Abraham," the verses of which are in alphabetical order; at the end an acrostic gives the author's name.

Bibliography:
  • Michael, Or ha-Ḥayyim, No. 31;
  • Landshuth, 'Ammude ha-'Abodah, p. 2.
