Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

חֲרָדָה f. constr. חֶרְדַּת plur. חֲרָדוֹת, Ezekiel 26:16.

(1) terror, fear. Genesis 27:33, “and Isaac feared חֲרָדָה גְדֹלָה a great fear.” A genitive after this word sometimes refers to the person who is feared, as, חֶרְדַּת אָדָם the fear of man, Proverbs 29:25 sometimes to him who inspires fear, חֶרְדַּת אֱלֹהִים terror, or fear, sent by God (a panic fear), 1 Samuel 14:15.

(2) care, concern, 2 Kings 4:13.

(3) pr.n. of a station of the Israelites in the desert [Haradah], Numbers 33:24.
