 לֶ֫קֶשׁ noun [masculine] probably after-growth, after-math, i.e. spring-crop (compare GASm12Proph. i. 109); — only (2t.) Amos 7:1, בִּתְחִלַּת עֲלוֺת הַלָּ֑קֶשׁ וְהִנֵּהלֶקֶשׁ אַחַר נִּזֵּי הַמֶּלֶךְ׃. — > Other interpretations are: late-rain growth (from מַלְקוֺשׁ q. v.), Hoffm ZAW iii. (1883) 116; leaf-and-herb-gathering in spring, We after Klein ZPV iv. 1881,83; Anderlind viii. 1886,62.
