he left Judea and went back to Galilee.

Two days later, Jesushe">[fn] went from that place to Galilee.

When he arrived in Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him because they had seen all that he had done in Jerusalem during the festival. For they, too, had gone to the festival.Deuteronomy 16:16; John 2:23; 3:2;">[xr]

So he came again to Cana in Galilee, where he had turned the water into wine. Meanwhile, in Capernaum there was a government official whose son was ill.John 2:1,11;">[xr]

When this man heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went to him and asked him repeatedly to come down and heal his son, for he was about to die.

Now this was the second sign that Jesus did after coming from Judea to Galilee.

After this, Jesus traveled aboutwalked">[fn] in Galilee, for he didn't want to travelto walk">[fn] in Judea because the Jews[fn] were trying to kill him.John 5:16,18;">[xr]

After saying this, he remained in Galilee.

while others were saying, "This is the Christ!"[fn] But some were saying, "The Christ doesn't come from Galilee, does he?John 1:46; 4:42;">[xr]

They answered him, "You aren't from Galilee, too, are you? Search and see that no prophet comes from Galilee."Isaiah 9:1-2; Matthew 4:15; John 1:41,46;">[xr]

They went to Philip (who was from Bethsaida in Galilee) and told him, "Sir, we would like to see Jesus."John 1:44;">[xr]

So the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria enjoyed peace. As it continued to be built up and to live in the fear of the Lord, it kept increasing in numbers through the encouragement of the Holy Spirit.Acts 8:1;">[xr]

You know what happened throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached.Luke 4:14;">[xr]
