And after the uproar ceased, Paul having sent for the disciples and exhorted them, took leave of them, and departed to go into Macedonia.

And when he had spent three months [there,] and a plot was laid against him by Jews as he was about to set sail for Syria, he determined to return through Macedonia.

But these had gone before, and were waiting for us at Troas.

And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Don't be distressed; for his life is in him.

But we, going ahead to the ship, set sail for Assos, there intending to take in Paul: for so had he appointed, intending himself to go by land.

For Paul had determined to sail past Ephesus, that he might not have to spend time in Asia; for he was hurrying, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.

For I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.

sorrowing most of all for the word which he had spoken, that they should see his face no more. And they brought him on his way to the ship.

And when we had come in sight of Cyprus, leaving it on the left hand, we sailed to Syria, and landed at Tyre; for there the ship was to unload her cargo.

Then Paul answered, What do you do, weeping and breaking my heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

And they, when they heard it, glorified God; and they said to him, You see, brother, how many tens of thousands there are among the Jews of those that have believed; and they are all zealous for the law:

these take, and purify yourself with them, and be at charges for them, that they may shave their heads: and all shall know that there is no truth in the things whereof they have been informed concerning you; but that you yourself also walk orderly, keeping the law.

Then Paul took the men the next day, having been purified with them, [and] went into the temple, declaring the fulfillment of the days of purification, until the offering was offered for every one of them.

For they had before seen with him in the city Trophimus the Ephesian, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.

And some shouted one thing, some another, among the crowd: and when he could not know the certainty for the uproar, he commanded him to be brought into the castle.

And when he came on the stairs, so it was that he was borne of the soldiers for the violence of the crowd;

for the multitude of the people followed after, crying out, "Away with him."

I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city, instructed at the feet of Gamaliel according to the strict manner of the law of our fathers, being zealous for God even as you all are this day:

And I said, What shall I do, Lord? And the Lord said to me, Arise, and go into Damascus; and there it shall be told you of all things which are appointed for you to do.

And when I could not see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of those that were with me I came into Damascus.
