For what thanksgiving can we render again to God for you, for all the joy with which we joy for your sakes before our God;

For you know what charge we gave you through the Lord Jesus.

For this is the will of God, [even] your sanctification, that you abstain from fornication;

For God called us not for impurity, but in sanctification.

But concerning love of the brothers you have no need that one write to you: for you yourselves are taught of God to love one another;

for indeed you do it toward all the brothers that are in all Macedonia. But we exhort you, brothers, that you abound more and more;

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so those also that have fallen asleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we that are alive, that are left to the coming of the Lord, shall in no way precede those that have fallen asleep.

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first;

For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.

for you are all sons of light, and sons of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness;

For those that sleep, sleep in the night: and those that are drunk, are drunk in the night.

But let us, since we are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.

For God did not appoint us into wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

who died for us, that, whether we are awake or asleep, we should live together with him.

and to esteem them exceeding highly in love for their work's sake. Be at peace among yourselves.

See that none render to any one evil for evil; but always follow after that which is good, both one toward another, and toward all.

in everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you.

Brothers, pray also for us.

We are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brothers, even as it is meet, for that your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of each one of you all toward one another abounds;
