For this is God's will, your sanctification, for you to abstain from fornication,

For God did not call us to impurity, but in purity.

Now as to brotherly love, you have no need for me to write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another.

For you also do it toward the brothers in all Macedonia. But, brothers, we exhort you to abound more.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will also bring with Him all those who have fallen asleep through Jesus.

For we say this to you in the Word of the Lord, that we the living who remain to the coming of the Lord will not at all go before those who have fallen asleep.

But concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need for it to be written.

For you yourselves know accurately that the day of the Lord, as a thief in the night, so it comes.

For when they say, Peace and safety! Then suddenly destruction comes upon them, like the travail to the one having babe in womb, and not at all shall they escape.

For those sleeping sleep by night, and those having been drunk are drunk by night.

because God has not appointed us to wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

See that not any one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue the good, both towards one another and towards all.

In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you.

so as for us to boast ourselves in you in the assemblies of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions, and the afflictions which you endure,

a clear token of the just judgment of God, for you to be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you indeed suffer;

For which we also continually pray concerning you, that our God would deem you worthy of the calling, and would fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness, and work of faith in power,

for you not to be quickly shaken in the mind, nor to be disturbed, neither through a spirit, nor through speech, nor through letter, as through us, as if the Day of Christ has come.

the one opposing and exalting himself over everything being called God, or object of worship, so as for him "to sit in the temple of God" as God, setting forth himself, that he is God. Dan. 11:36; Eze. 28:2

And now you know the thing holding back, for him to be revealed in his time.

For the mystery of lawlessness already is working, only he is holding back now, until it comes out of the midst.
