But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine:

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,

looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,

who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work,

For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.

But avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless.

When I send Artemas to you, or Tychicus, be diligent to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there.

For we have [fn] great joy [fn] and consolation in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed by you, brother.

yet for love's sake I rather appeal to you--being such a one as Paul, the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ--

I appeal to you for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten while in my chains,

whom I wished to keep with me, that on your behalf he might minister to me in my chains for the gospel.

For perhaps he departed for a while for this purpose, that you might receive him forever,

But, meanwhile, also prepare a guest room for me, for I trust that through your prayers I shall be granted to you.

For to which of the angels did He ever say: "You are My Son,Today I have begotten You"? Psalms 2:7 ">[fn] And again:"I will be to Him a Father,And He shall be to Me a Son"? 2 Samuel 7:14 ">[fn]

Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?

For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward,

Psalm 8:1-9">[xr] For He has not put the world to come, of which we speak, in subjection to angels.

You have put all things in subjection under his feet." Psalms 8:4-6 ">[fn] For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him.

But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.
