How blessed is the man who ^(a)does not walk in the ^(b)counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the ^[a](c)path of sinners, Nor ^(d)sit in the seat of scoffers!

But his ^(e)delight is ^(f)in the law of the Lord , And in His law he meditates ^(g)day and ^(h)night.

He will be like ⁽ⁱ⁾a tree firmly planted by ^[b]streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its ^[c]leaf does not wither; And ^[d]in whatever he does, ^(j)he prospers.

The wicked are not so, But they are like ^(k)chaff which the wind drives away.

Therefore ^(l)the wicked will not stand in the ^(m)judgment, Nor sinners in ⁽ⁿ⁾the assembly of the righteous.

For the Lord ^[e](o)knows the way of the righteous, But the way of ^(p)the wicked will perish.

Why are ^(a)the ^[a]nations in an uproar And the peoples ^(b)devising a vain thing?

The ^(c)kings of the earth take their stand And the rulers take counsel together ^(d)Against the Lord and against His ^[b](e)Anointed, saying,

"Let us ^(f)tear their fetters apart And cast away their cords from us!"

He who ^[c]sits in the heavens ^(g)laughs, The Lord ^(h)scoffs at them.

Then He will speak to them in His ⁽ⁱ⁾anger And ^(j)terrify them in His fury, saying,

"But as for Me, I have ^[d]installed ^(k)My King Upon Zion, ^(l)My holy mountain."

"I will surely tell of the ^[e]decree of the Lord : He said to Me, ‘You are ^(m)My Son, Today I have begotten You.

‘Ask of Me, and ⁽ⁿ⁾I will surely give ^(o)the ^[f]nations as Your inheritance, And the very ^(p)ends of the earth as Your possession.

‘You shall ^[g](q)break them with a ^[h]rod of iron, You shall ^(r)shatter them like ^[i]earthenware.'"

Now therefore, O kings, ^(s)show discernment; Take warning, O ^[j]judges of the earth.

^[k]Worship the Lord with ^[l](t)reverence And rejoice with ^(u)trembling.

^[m]Do homage to ^(v)the Son, that He not become angry, and you perish in the way, For ^(w)His wrath may ^[n]soon be kindled. How blessed are all who ^(x)take refuge in Him!

A Psalm of David, when ^[a]he fled from Absalom his son.

O Lord , how ^(a)my adversaries have increased! Many are rising up against me.

Many are saying ^[b]of my soul, "There is no ^[c](b)deliverance for him in God." ^[d]Selah.

But You, O Lord , are ^(c)a shield about me, My ^(d)glory, and the One who ^(e)lifts my head.

I was crying to the Lord with my voice, And He ^(f)answered me from ^(g)His holy ^[e]mountain. Selah.

^[f]I ^(h)lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustains me.

I will ⁽ⁱ⁾not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have ^(j)set themselves against me round about.

^(k)Arise, O Lord ; ^(l)save me, O my God! For You ^[g]have ^(m)smitten all my enemies on the ^[h]cheek; You ^[i]have ⁽ⁿ⁾shattered the teeth of the wicked.

^(a)Answer me when ^(b)I call, O God ^[b]of my righteousness! You have ^[c](c)relieved me in my distress; Be ^(d)gracious to me and ^(e)hear my prayer.

O sons of men, how long will ^(f)my ^[d]honor become ^(g)a reproach? How long will you love ^(h)what is worthless and aim at ⁽ⁱ⁾deception? ^[e]Selah.

But know that the Lord has ^[f](j)set apart the ^(k)godly man for Himself; The Lord ^(l)hears when I call to Him.

^[g](m)Tremble, ^[h](n)and do not sin; ^[i](o)Meditate in your heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

Offer ^[j]the ^(p)sacrifices of righteousness, And ^(q)trust in the Lord .

Many are saying, "^(r)Who will show us any good?" ^(s)Lift up the light of Your countenance upon us, O Lord !

You have put ^(t)gladness in my heart, More than when their grain and new wine abound.

In peace I will ^[k]both ^(u)lie down and sleep, For You alone, O Lord , make me to ^(v)dwell in safety.

^(a)Give ear to my words, O Lord , Consider my ^[b](b)groaning.

Heed ^(c)the sound of my cry for help, ^(d)my King and my God, For to You I pray.

In the morning, O Lord , ^[c]You will hear my voice; In the ^(e)morning I will order my ^[d]prayer to You and eagerly ^(f)watch.

For You are not a God ^(g)who takes pleasure in wickedness; ^(h)No evil ^[e]dwells with You.

The ⁽ⁱ⁾boastful shall not ^(j)stand before Your eyes; You ^(k)hate all who do iniquity.

You ^(l)destroy those who speak falsehood; The Lord abhors ^(m)the man of bloodshed and deceit.

But as for me, ⁽ⁿ⁾by Your abundant lovingkindness I will enter Your house, ^[f]At Your holy temple I will ^(o)bow in ^(p)reverence for You.

O Lord , ^(q)lead me ^(r)in Your righteousness ^(s)because of ^[g]my foes; Make Your way ^[h]straight before me.

There is ^(t)nothing ^[i]reliable in ^[j]what they say; Their ^(u)inward part is destruction itself. Their ^(v)throat is an open grave; They ^[k]flatter with their tongue.

Hold them guilty, O God; ^(w)By their own devices let them fall! In the multitude of their transgressions ^(x)thrust them out, For they are ^(y)rebellious against You.

But let all who ^(z)take refuge in You ^(aa)be glad, Let them ever sing for joy; And ^[l]may You ^(ab)shelter them, That those who ^(ac)love Your name may exult in You.

O Lord , ^(a)do not rebuke me in Your anger, Nor chasten me in Your wrath.

Be gracious to me, O Lord , for I am ^(b)pining away; ^(c)Heal me, O Lord , for ^(d)my bones are dismayed.

And my ^(e)soul is greatly dismayed; But You, O Lord —^(f)how long?

Return, O Lord , ^(g)rescue my ^[b]soul; Save me because of Your lovingkindness.

The Lord ⁽ⁿ⁾has heard my supplication, The Lord ^(o)receives my prayer.

All my enemies will ^(p)be ashamed and greatly dismayed; They shall ^[e]turn back, they will ^(q)suddenly be ashamed.

O Lord my God, ^(a)in You I have taken refuge; Save me from all those who pursue me, and ^(b)deliver me,

Or he will tear ^[c]my soul ^(c)like a lion, ^[d]Dragging me away, while there is none to deliver.

O Lord my God, if I have done this, If there is ^(d)injustice in my hands,

If I have ^(e)rewarded evil to ^[e]my friend, Or have ^(f)plundered ^[f]him who without cause was my adversary,

Let the enemy pursue ^[g]my soul and overtake ^[h]it; And let him trample my life down to the ground And lay my glory in the dust. ^[i]Selah.

^(g)Arise, O Lord , in Your anger; ^(h)Lift up Yourself against ⁽ⁱ⁾the rage of my adversaries, And ^(j)arouse Yourself ^[j]for me; You have appointed judgment.

Let the assembly of the ^(k)peoples encompass You, And over ^[k]them return on high.

The Lord ^(l)judges the peoples; ^[l](m)Vindicate me, O Lord , according to my righteousness and my integrity that is in me.

O let ⁽ⁿ⁾the evil of the wicked come to an end, but ^(o)establish the righteous; For the righteous God ^(p)tries the hearts and ^[m]minds.

My ^(q)shield is ^[n]with God, Who ^(r)saves the upright in heart.

God is a ^(s)righteous judge, And a God who has ^(t)indignation every day.

If ^[o]a man ^(u)does not repent, He will ^(v)sharpen His sword; He has ^(w)bent His bow and ^[p]made it ready.

He has also prepared ^[q]for Himself deadly weapons; He makes His ^(x)arrows fiery shafts.

Behold, he travails with wickedness, And he ^(y)conceives mischief and brings forth falsehood.

He has dug a pit and hollowed it out, And has ^(z)fallen into the hole which he made.

His ^(aa)mischief will return upon his own head, And his ^(ab)violence will descend upon ^[r]his own pate.

I will give thanks to the Lord ^(ac)according to His righteousness And will ^(ad)sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.

O Lord , our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth, Who have ^[a](a)displayed Your splendor above the heavens!

^(b)From the mouth of infants and nursing babes You have established ^[b](c)strength Because of Your adversaries, To make ^(d)the enemy and the revengeful cease.

When I ^[c](e)consider ^(f)Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The ^(g)moon and the stars, which You have ^[d]ordained;

^(h)What is man that You ^[e]take thought of him, And the son of man that You care for him?

Yet You have made him a ⁽ⁱ⁾little lower than ^[f]God, And ^(j)You crown him with ^(k)glory and majesty!

You make him to ^(l)rule over the works of Your hands; You have ^(m)put all things under his feet,

All sheep and oxen, And also the ^[g]beasts of the field,

The birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea, Whatever passes through the paths of the seas.

I will give thanks to the Lord with all ^(a)my heart; I will ^(b)tell of all Your ^[b]wonders.

I will be glad and ^(c)exult in You; I will ^(d)sing praise to Your name, O ^(e)Most High.

When my enemies turn back, They stumble and ^(f)perish before You.

For You have ^(g)maintained ^[c]my just cause; You have sat on the throne ^[d](h)judging righteously.

You have ⁽ⁱ⁾rebuked the nations, You have destroyed the wicked; You have ^(j)blotted out their name forever and ever.

^[e]The enemy has come to an end in perpetual ruins, And You have uprooted the cities; The very ^(k)memory of them has perished.

But the ^(l) Lord ^[f]abides forever; He has established His ^(m)throne for judgment,

And He will ⁽ⁿ⁾judge the world in righteousness; He will execute judgment for the peoples with equity.

^[g]The Lord also will be a ^(o)stronghold for the oppressed, A stronghold in times of trouble;

And ^[h]those who ^(p)know Your name will put their trust in You, For You, O Lord , have not ^(q)forsaken those who seek You.

Sing praises to the Lord , who ^(r)dwells in Zion; ^(s)Declare among the peoples His deeds.

For ^(t)He who ^[i]requires blood remembers them; He does not forget ^(u)the cry of the afflicted.

Be gracious to me, O Lord ; See my affliction from those ^(v)who hate me, You who ^(w)lift me up from the gates of death,

That I may tell of ^(x)all Your praises, That in the gates of the daughter of Zion I may ^(y)rejoice in Your ^[j]salvation.

The nations have sunk down ^(z)in the pit which they have made; In the ^(aa)net which they hid, their own foot has been caught.

The Lord has ^(ab)made Himself known; He has ^(ac)executed judgment. In the work of his own hands the wicked is snared. ^[k]Higgaion ^[l]Selah.

The wicked will ^[m](ad)return to ^[n]Sheol, Even all the nations who ^(ae)forget God.

For the ^(af)needy will not always be forgotten, Nor the ^(ag)hope of the afflicted perish forever.

^(ah)Arise, O Lord , do not let man prevail; Let the nations be ^(ai)judged before You.

Put them ^(aj)in fear, O Lord ; Let the nations know that they are ^(ak)but men. Selah.
