And he said to him, I am Yahweh that brought you out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give you this land to inherit it.

And he said, O Lord Yahweh, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?

In that day Yahweh made a covenant with Abram, saying, To your seed I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates:

And Sarai said to Abram, Now seeing that Yahweh has restrained me from bearing; go in, I pray you, to my slave; it may be that I shall obtain [children] by her. And Abram listened to the voice of Sarai.

And Sarai said to Abram, My wrong be on you: I gave my slave into your bosom; and when she saw that she had become pregnant, I was despised in her eyes: Yahweh judge between me and you.

And the angel of Yahweh found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.

And the angel of Yahweh said to her, Return to your mistress, and submit yourself under her hands.

And the angel of Yahweh said to her, I will greatly multiply your seed, it shall be too many to count.

And the angel of Yahweh said to her, Look, you are pregnant, and shall give birth to a son; and you shall name him Ishmael, because Yahweh has heard your affliction.

And she named Yahweh that spoke to her, "El-Roi,": for she said, Do I still see now [even] after my vision?

And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, Yahweh appeared to Abram, and said to him, I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be perfect.

And Yahweh appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre, as he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;

And Yahweh said to Abraham, Why did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I certainly bear a child, who am old?

Is anything too hard for Yahweh? At the set time I will return to you, when the season comes around, and Sarah shall have a son.

And Yahweh said, Shall I hide from Abraham that which I do;

For I have known him, to the end that he may command his sons and his household after him, that they may keep the way of Yahweh, to do righteousness and justice; to the end that Yahweh may bring on Abraham that which he has spoken of him.

And Yahweh said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;

And the men turned from there, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before Yahweh.

And Yahweh said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous inside the city, then I will spare all the place for their sake.

And Yahweh went his way, as soon as he had left off communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned to his place.
