Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

אֶלְגָּבִישׁ m. hail, Ezekiel 13:11, 13 Ezekiel 13:13, 38:22, i.q. גָּבִישׁ ice, κρύσταλλος, whence אַבְנֵי אֶלְגָּבִישׁ stones of ice, i.e. hail. This word is perhaps rather Arabic than Hebrew. Kamûs, page 742, أَاْجبْسُ what is frozen; [“ال جاصد concretum, specially congelatum.” See also Freytag’s Lexicon, i. page 240.]
