בְּעִי m. (root בָּעָה) prayer, entreaty, Job 30:24, לֹא בְעִי יִשְׁלַח יָד “prayers avail nothing, when God stretches out the hand;” I regard בְּ in the word בְּעִי, as radical, and I render the other hemistich “nor in his destruction (i.e. sent by God) does outcry profit them.”
