(1) i.q. קָו a rope, Joshua 2:18, 21 Joshua 2:21 from the root קָוָה No. I.
(2) expectation, hope (from קִוָּה to expect. Ruth 1:12; Job 5:16, 5:6 Zechariah 9:12, אֲסִירֵי הַתִּקְוָה “the captives cherishing hope.” As to the words, Job 6:8, see וְ note, p. 235, B.
(3) [Tikvah], pr.n. masc. 2 Kings 22:14 for which there is in the parallel place, 2 Chronicles 34:22, תּוֹקַחַת כתיב ;תָּקְהַת (obedience, from the root יָקַהּ).
