On that day, let no one on the housetop come down to retrieve his possessions. Likewise, let no one in the field return for anything he has left behind.

For a while he refused, but later he said to himself, 'Even though I do not fear God or respect men,

Will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry out to Him day and night? Will He continue to defer their help?

I tell you, this man, rather than the Pharisee, went home justified. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted."

Now people were even bringing their babies to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them. And when the disciples saw this, they rebuked those who brought them.

But Jesus called the children to Him and said, "Let the little children come to Me and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

Seeing the man's sorrow, Jesus said, "How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God.

Indeed, it is easier for a camel to pass through an eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

"Truly I tell you," Jesus replied, "no one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God

"What do you want Me to do for you?" "Lord," he said, "let me see again."

When Jesus came to that place, He looked up and said, "Zacchaeus, hurry down, for I must stay at your house today."

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost."

For I was afraid of you, because you are a harsh man. You withdraw what you did not deposit and reap what you did not sow.'

And these enemies of mine who were unwilling for me to rule over them, bring them here and slay them in front of me.'"

And as He approached the descent from the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of disciples began to praise God joyfully in a loud voice for all the miracles they had seen:

For the days will come upon you when your enemies will barricade you and surround you and hem you in on every side.

But if we say, 'From men,' all the people will stone us, for they are convinced that John was a prophet."

Then He proceeded to tell the people this parable: "A man planted a vineyard, rented it out to some tenants, and went away for a long time.

Is it lawful for us to pay taxes to Caesar or not?"

"Teacher," they said, "Moses wrote for us that if a man's brother dies and leaves a wife but no children, the man is to marry his brother's widow and raise up offspring for him.
