But He said to them, "I must also preach the kingdom of God to the other cities, because I was sent for this purpose."

"But woe to you who are rich, for you are receiving your comfort in full.

"Woe to you who are well-fed now, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep.

"Woe to you when all the people speak well of you; for their fathers used to treat the false prophets the same way.

bless those who curse you, pray for those who are abusive to you.

"If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.

"And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.

"But love your enemies and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil people.

"Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return."
