(Now no one of those reclining at table knew for what reason he said this to him.

For some were thinking because Judas had the money box, Jesus was telling him, "Purchase what we need for the feast," or that he should give something to the poor.)

By this everyone will know that you are my disciples—if you have love for one another."

Peter said to him, "Lord, why am I not able to follow you now? I will lay down my life for you!"

Jesus replied, "Will you lay down your life for me? Truly, truly I say to you, the rooster will not crow until you have denied me three times!

In my Father's house there are many dwelling places; but if not, I would have told you, because I am going away to prepare a place for you.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself, so that where I am, you may be also.

Philip said to him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us."

I will no longer speak much with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has no power over me.

"I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me and I in him—this one bears much fruit, for apart from me you are not able to do anything.

If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you want and it will be done for you.

No one has greater love than this: that someone lay down his life for his friends.

If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, for this reason the world hates you.

If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin. But now they do not have a valid excuse for their sin.

But I tell you the truth, it is better for you that I go away. For if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.

But when he—the Spirit of truth—comes, he will guide you into all the truth. For he will not speak from himself, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will proclaim to you the things to come.

Everything that the Father has is mine. For this reason I said that he takes from what is mine and will proclaim it to you.

For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.

Now we know that you know everything and do not need for anyone to ask you questions. By this we believe that you have come from God."

And for them I sanctify myself, so that they themselves also may be sanctified in the truth.
