He gave Himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.

Remind the believers to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient and ready for every good work,

For at one time we too were foolish, disobedient, misled, enslaved to all sorts of desires and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared,

This saying is trustworthy. And I want you to emphasize these things, so that those who have believed God will take care to devote themselves to good deeds. These things are excellent and profitable for the people.

because I hear about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints.

I prefer to appeal on the basis of love. For I, Paul, am now aged, and a prisoner of Christ Jesus as well.

I appeal to you for my child Onesimus, whose father I became while I was in chains.

I would have liked to keep him with me, so that on your behalf he could minister to me in my chains for the gospel.

For perhaps this is why he was separated from you for a while, so that you might have him back for good-

In the meantime, prepare a guest room for me, because I hope that through your prayers, I will be restored to you.

The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of His nature, upholding all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

For to which of the angels did God ever say: "You are My Son; today I have become Your Father"? Or again: "I will be His Father, and He will be My Son"?

Yet to which of the angels did God ever say: "Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet"?

For if the message spoken by angels was binding, and every transgression and disobedience received its just punishment,

For it is not to angels that He has subjected the world to come, about which we are speaking.

But somewhere it is testified in these words: "What is man that You are mindful of him, or the son of man that You care for him?

But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because He suffered death, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.

In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting for God, for whom and through whom all things exist, to make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering.

For both the One who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers.
