For you have need of patience in order that you may do the will of God and receive the promise.

For the time is all too short, and he who is to come will come, and will not delay.

NOW faith is the substance of things hoped for, just as it was the substance of things which have come to pass; and it is the evidence of things not seen,

For it is through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen came to be from those which are not seen.

For whom the LORD loves, he chastens him, and disciplines the sons with whom he is pleased.

Now, therefore, endure discipline, because God acts toward you as towards sons; for where is the son whom the father does not discipline?
