Wail, for the day of the Lord is near; it will come like destruction from the Almighty!

See, the day of the Lord comes, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger, to make the earth a desolation, and to destroy its sinners from it.

If you refrain from trampling the sabbath, from pursuing your own interests on my holy day; if you call the sabbath a delight and the holy day of the Lord honorable; if you honor it, not going your own ways, serving your own interests, or pursuing your own affairs;

That day is the day of the Lord God of hosts, a day of retribution, to gain vindication from his foes. The sword shall devour and be sated, and drink its fill of their blood. For the Lord God of hosts holds a sacrifice in the land of the north by the river Euphrates.

You have not gone up into the breaches, or repaired a wall for the house of Israel, so that it might stand in battle on the day of the Lord .

For a day is near, the day of the Lord is near; it will be a day of clouds, a time of doom for the nations.

Alas for the day! For the day of the Lord is near, and as destruction from the Almighty it comes.

Blow the trumpet in Zion; sound the alarm on my holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble, for the day of the Lord is coming, it is near—

The Lord utters his voice at the head of his army; how vast is his host! Numberless are those who obey his command. Truly the day of the Lord is great; terrible indeed—who can endure it?

The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes.

Multitudes, multitudes, in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.

Alas for you who desire the day of the Lord ! Why do you want the day of the Lord ? It is darkness, not light;

Is not the day of the Lord darkness, not light, and gloom with no brightness in it?

For the day of the Lord is near against all the nations. As you have done, it shall be done to you; your deeds shall return on your own head.

Be silent before the Lord God ! For the day of the Lord is at hand; the Lord has prepared a sacrifice, he has consecrated his guests.

And on the day of the Lord 's sacrifice I will punish the officials and the king's sons and all who dress themselves in foreign attire.

The great day of the Lord is near, near and hastening fast; the sound of the day of the Lord is bitter, the warrior cries aloud there.

Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to save them on the day of the Lord 's wrath; in the fire of his passion the whole earth shall be consumed; for a full, a terrible end he will make of all the inhabitants of the earth.

before you are driven away like the drifting chaff, before there comes upon you the fierce anger of the Lord , before there comes upon you the day of the Lord 's wrath.

Seek the Lord , all you humble of the land, who do his commands; seek righteousness, seek humility; perhaps you may be hidden on the day of the Lord 's wrath.
