For the day of the LORD shall be against every one that is proud and lofty, and against every one that is lifted up, that he shall be brought low;

Howl; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a plunder which is made suddenly.

Behold, the day of the LORD comes, which has no remedy, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to make the earth a desolation; and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.

The sun shall be changed into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and fearful day of the Lord shall come.

But the day of the LORD will come as a thief in the night, when the heavens shall suddenly pass away, and the universe shall separate as it burns, and the earth also and the works that are in it, shall pass away.
