1 Around this time, Hizkiyahu became ill to the point of death. Yesha‘yahu the prophet, the son of Amotz, came and said to him, "Here is what Adonai says: ‘Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not live.'" 1 In those days Hezekiah was sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him and said to him, Thus saith Jehovah: Set thy house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live. 1 At that time Hezekiah became sick and almost died. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to see him and told him, "The Lord says, ‘You will die soon, so you should tell your family what they should do when you die. You will not get well.'" 1 In those days was Hizkiyahu sick to death. Yesha`yahu the prophet the son of Amotz came to him, and said to him, Thus says the LORD, Set your house in order: for you shall die, and not live. 1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him: 'Thus saith the LORD: Set thy house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.' 1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith Jehovah, Set thy house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live. 1 In those days Hezekiah was ill and near death. And Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, came to him, and said to him, The Lord says, Put your house in order, for your death is near. 1 About that time was Hezekia sicke vnto the death: And the prophete Isai the sonne of Amoz came to him, and sayde vnto him, Thus saith the Lord: Put thine houshold in an order, for thou shalt dye, and not lyue. 1 About that time was Hezekiah sicke vnto death: and the Prophet Isaiah the sonne of Amoz came to him, and said vnto him, Thus saith the Lorde, Put thine house in an order: for thou shalt die, and not liue. 1 IN those days Hezekiah became sick to death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him and said to him, Thus says the LORD: Set your house in order; for you shall die, you shall not live.

Y Ezequías dijo: Antes de la recuperación real, Ezequías, que al principio no se sintió mejor, pidió una "señal" de que realmente sería restaurado para la salud.

Pedir una señal es un acto piadoso o malvado de acuerdo con el espíritu en el que se hace. No se atribuye ninguna culpa a las solicitudes de Gedeón Jueces 6:17, Jueces 6:37, Jueces 6:39, ni a esto de Ezequías, porque eran verdaderos deseos del corazón expresó humildemente. La "generación malvada" que "buscó una señal" en los días de nuestro Señor en realidad no la quería, pero hizo la demanda de manera cautiva, sin esperar ni desear que se la concediera.
