Contextual Overview

¹² For this reason, I will always remind you about these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you already have. ¹² Wherefore I will be careful to put you always in mind of these things, although knowing [them] and established in the present truth. ¹² Therefore I will not be negligent to remind you of these things, though you know them, and are established in the present truth. ¹² Therefore, I intend to keep on reminding you about these things, even though you already know them and are firmly established in the truth that you now have.Romans 15:14-15; Philippians 3:1; 1 Peter 5:12; 2 Peter 3:1,17; 1 John 2:21; Jude 1:5;">[xr] ¹² Wherefore it doth not weary me to remind you constantly of these, that you may know well, and be established upon this truth. ¹² And for this reason I am not wearied in reminding you continually of these things; although ye know them well, and are established in this truth. ¹² Wherefore I shall be ready always to put you in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and are established in the truth which is with you. ¹² For this reason I will be ready at all times to keep your memory of these things awake, though you have the knowledge of them now and are well based in your present faith. ¹² Therefore I intend always to remind you of these qualities, though you know them and are established in the truth that you have. ¹² Wherefore, I will not be negligent to put you alwayes in remembrance of these things, though that ye haue knowledge, & be stablished in the present trueth.

Mientras esté en este tabernáculo - Mientras viva; mientras yo esté en el cuerpo. El cuerpo se llama tabernáculo, o tienda de campaña, como aquel en el que el alma reside por un corto tiempo. Vea las notas en 2 Corintios 5:1.

Para agitarte, recordándote - Para excitarte o excitarte en el desempeño diligente de tus deberes; para mantener en sus mentes un sentido vivo de las cosas divinas. La religión se vuelve más importante para la mente de un hombre siempre que se acerca al final de la vida y siente que pronto entrará en el mundo eterno.

Versículo 13. Mientras yo esté en este tabernáculo.  Por tabernáculo debemos entender su cuerpo ; y de ahí que varias de las versiones tengan σωματι, cuerpo , en lugar de σκηνωματι, tabernáculo . El modo de hablar de Pedro es muy notable: mientras YO ESTOY en este tabernáculo , entonces el cuerpo no era Pedro , sino que Pedro moraba en ese cuerpo . ¿No es esto una prueba de que San Pedro creía que su alma era muy distinta de su cuerpo? Así como la casa del hombre es el lugar donde habita, así el cuerpo es la casa donde habita el alma.
