שְׁלִישִׁי m. שְׁלִישִׁיָּה, שְׁלִישִׁית f. pl. שְׁלִשִׁים (from שָׁלשׁ, שָׁלוֹשׁ), third, Genesis 2:14; Numbers 2:24; Isaiah 19:24; Job 42:14, and so frequently. Pl. שְׁלִשִׁים subst. chambers of the third story, Genesis 6:16.-Fem. specially is
(a) a third part, Numbers 15:6, Numbers 15:7; 2 Samuel 18:2.
(b) with ה parag. שְׁלִשַׁתָה adv. the third time, Ezekiel 21:19.
(c) the third day, on the third day. 1 Samuel 20:12, כָּעֵת מָחָר הַשְּׁלִישִׁית “at this time to-morrow (or) the third day.”
(d) the third year, Isaiah 15:5; Jeremiah 48:34 see עֶגְלָה page 605, A.
