(Late Hebrew Levy NHWB iii. 492; Late Hebrew Aramaic סִימְלאסמּוֺן is tube, especially vein, artery Id ib. 513; loan-word from (late) Greek συμφωνία, Krauss ii. 376,390 Bev41 Dr Daniel 3:5 Nes MM 37 (hence also later Latin symphonia, Ital. zampogna), Prince KB 9230); — absolute ׳ס Daniel 3:5,15, = סיפניה Kt, סוּמֹּנְיָה Qr Daniel 3:10 (Syriac id.; compare Palmyrene ספון = σύμφωνος, in agreement, Lzb330 GACooke Inscr. 338).

Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition
סוּמְפֹּנְיָה f. Chald. Daniel 3:5, 10, 15, and with מ omitted סִיפֹנְיָה verse 10 כתיב, Syr. ܨܶܦܘܽܢܝܐܳ a double pipe with a bag, Sackpfeife, Bagpipes; the Greek word συμφωνία (Serv. ad Æn. xi. 27; Isidor. Orig. iii. 21 extr.) received into the Chaldee language, just as at present this instrument is called in Italy and in Asia Minor, Zambogna. (As to this instrument see a Hebrew treatise on musical instruments, entitled Shilte Hagibborim, in Ugolini’s Thes. vol. xxxii.). Well explained by the Hebrew interpreters עוּגָב.
