Nahor had more children and died at the age of one hundred forty-eight.

Abram married Sarai, but she was not able to have any children. And Nahor married Milcah, who was the daughter of Haran and the sister of Iscah.

But Abram answered, " Lord All-Powerful, you have given me everything I could ask for, except children. And when I die, Eliezer of Damascus will get all I own.

You have not given me any children, and this servant of mine will inherit everything."

Abram's wife Sarai had not been able to have any children. But she owned a young Egyptian slave woman named Hagar,

and Sarai said to Abram, "The Lord has not given me any children. Sleep with my slave, and if she has a child, it will be mine." Abram agreed,

Abraham and Sarah were very old, and Sarah was well past the age for having children.

Let's get our father drunk! Then we can sleep with him and have children."

That's how Lot's two daughters had their children.

Meanwhile, God had kept Abimelech's wife and slaves from having children. But Abraham prayed, and God let them start having children again.

Sarah, my master's wife, didn't have any children until she was very old. Then she had a son, and my master has given him everything.

They gave Rebekah their blessing and said, "We pray that God will give you many children and grandchildren and that he will help them defeat their enemies."

When Leah realized she could not have any more children, she let Jacob marry her servant Zilpah,

You know how hard I've worked for you, so let me take my wives and children and leave."

Now do whatever God tells you to do. Even the property God took from our father and gave to you really belongs to us and our children.

Then Jacob, his wives, and his children got on camels and left
