But as for you, blessed are your eyes for they see; and your ears for they hear.

For truly I say to you, a great many prophets and righteous men have longed to see what you see, and did not see it; and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.

But it has no root in him, except for a while; and when trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he immediately stumbles.

For John had said to him, It is unlawful to have her as your wife.

And Jesus went out and saw large crowds, and he had pity for them, and healed their sick.

When it was evening, his disciples came to him, and they said to him, This is a lonely place, and it is getting late; dismiss the people so that the men may go to the villages and buy food for themselves.

But he said to them, It is not necessary for them to go; you give them something to eat.

But the boat was many miles away from the land, tossed by the waves, for the wind was against it.

For God said, Honor your father and your mother, and whoever curses his father and his mother, let him be put to death.

So you have rendered useless the word of God for the sake of your tradition.

For from the heart come out evil thoughts, such as fornication, murder, adultery, theft, false witness, blasphemy.

But he did not answer her. And his disciples came up to him and urged him, saying, Dismiss her, for she keeps crying aloud after us.

Jesus then called his disciples and said to them, I have compassion for this people, for they have remained with me three days, and they have nothing to eat; and if I dismiss them fasting, they might faint on the way; but this I do not wish to do.

But he answered and said to them, When it is evening, you say, It is clear, for the sky is red.

And in the morning you say, It is a winter day, for the sky is red and cloudy. O hypocrites, you know how to judge the face of the sky, but the signs of the present time you are not able to distinguish.

Jesus answered and said to him, Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for flesh and blood did not reveal it to you, but my Father in heaven.

But he turned, and said to Peter, Get behind me, Satan, you are a stumbling-block to me; for you are not thinking of the things of God, but of men.

For whoever wishes to save his life shall lose it; and whoever loses his life for my sake shall find it.

For how will a man be benefited, if he should gain the whole world and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
