B — 1: ἐπιστομίζω

(Strong's #1993 — Verb — epistomizo — ep-ee-stom-id'-zo )

"to bridle" (epi, "upon," and A), is used metaphorically of "stopping the mouth, putting to silence," Titus 1:11 . Cp. phrasso, "to stop, close," said of stopping the "mouths" of men, in Romans 3:19 . See STOP.
