a Lutheran theologian of Germany, was born at Sagan, in Silesia, October 29, 1671, and died at Alten-Morbitz, in the diocese of Borna, March 14, 1745, in his first and only parish, to which he was appointed in 1697. He is the author of Ausfuhrliche Liedererklarung (Altenburg, 1749, 4 parts, published by his son). He also wrote some hymns, which are still in use.
