Then Job answered and said:

Moreover Job continued his discourse, and said:

He builds his house like a moth, Job 8:14); Targum reads decay. ">[fn] Like a booth which a watchman makes.

Job further continued his discourse, and said:

When my steps were bathed with cream, Job 20:17). ">[fn] And the rock poured out rivers of oil for me!

(But from my youth I reared him as a father,And from my mother's womb I guided the widow Job 31:16) ">[fn] );

Then let thistles grow instead of wheat, And weeds instead of barley." The words of Job are ended.

So these three men ceased answering Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.

Then the wrath of Elihu, the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, was aroused against Job; his wrath was aroused because he justified himself rather than God.

Also against his three friends his wrath was aroused, because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job.

Now because they were years older than he, Elihu had waited to speak to Job. [fn]

I paid close attention to you; And surely not one of you convinced Job, Or answered his words--

"But please, Job, hear my speech, And listen to all my words.

"Give ear, Job, listen to me; Hold your peace, and I will speak.

"For Job has said, "I am righteous, But God has taken away my justice;

What man is like Job, Who drinks scorn like water,

"Job speaks without knowledge, His words are without wisdom.'
