Holiness is not something about which we should make appeals to people. It is our business to set scriptural doctrine before them, and the man who really believes what he claims to believe is a man who must be urgently concerned about this question of his sanctification. Fifty-four Knights Templars were burned at the stake as heretics in France. Established during the Crusades to protect pilgrims traveling to the Holy Land, this military order came into increasing conflict with Rome until Clement V officially dissolved it in 1312 at the Council of Vienna.
