Exodus 4:3 — Verse Exodus 4:3. A serpent — Of what sort we know not, as the word נחש nachash is a general name for serpents, and also means several other things, see Genesis 3:1: but it was either of a kind that he had not seen before, or one that he knew to be dangerous; for it is said, he fled from before it. Some suppose the staff was changed into a crocodile; Exodus 7:10.

2 Kings 12:1 — CHAPTER XII Jehoash reigns well under the instructions of Jehoiada the priest, 1-3. He directs the repairing of the temple; the account of what was done, 4-16. Hazael takes Gath; and, proceeding to besiege Jerusalem, is prevented by Jehoash, who gives him all the treasures and hallowed things of the house of the Lord, 17, 18. Ezra 4:24 — Verse Ezra 4:24. So it ceased unto the second year of - Darius — They had begun in the first year of Cyrus, B.C. 536, to go up to Jerusalem, and they were obliged to desist from the building B.C. 522; and thus they continued till the second year of Darius, B.C. 519. Job 26:1 — CHAPTER XXVI Job, perceiving that his friends could no longer support their arguments on the ground they had assumed, sharply reproves them for their want both of wisdom and feeling, 1-4; shows that the power and wisdom of God are manifest in the works of creation and providence; gives several proofs; and then adds that these are a small specimen of his infinite skill and unlimited power, 5-14. Job 4:7 — Verse Job 4:7. Remember, I pray thee — Recollect, if thou canst, a single instance where God abandoned an innocent man, or suffered him to perish. Didst thou ever hear of a case in which God abandoned a righteous man to destruction? Psalms 72:3 — "las pequeñas colinas por la justicia"? Pues, no tiene ningún significado: y no tiene ninguno, porque es una división falsa del verso. La palabra בצדקה bitsedakah, en justicia, al final del verso  Salmo 72:3 , debe comenzar con el versículo Salmo 72:4 , y entonces el sentido será claro. Versión Salmo 72:3 : "Los montes y las colinas traerán prosperidad al pueblo". versión Salmo 72:4 :"Con justicia juzgará a los pobres del pueblo; salvará a los hijos de los necesitados, y despedazará al opresor".

2 Samuel 4:9 — Verse 2 Samuel 4:9. Who hath redeemed my soul out of all adversity — This was, in David's case, a very proper view of the goodness and watchful providence of God towards him. His life was frequently in danger; murderers had often laid wait for it: but God, the living God, had always redeemed that life from all adversity; and called on him now to punish such evil-minded and blood-thirsty men.
