Genesis 25:7 — Verse Genesis 25:7. The days of the years, c. — There is a beauty in this expression which is not sufficiently regarded. Good men do not live by centuries, though many such have lived several hundred years, nor do they count their lives even by years, but by days, living as if they were the creatures only of A DAY having no more time than they can with any propriety call their own, and living that day in reference to eternity.

Genesis 38:7 — Verse Genesis 38:7. Er-was wicked in the sight of the Lord — What this wickedness consisted in we are not told; but the phrase sight of the Lord being added, proves that it was some very great evil. It is worthy of remark that the Hebrew word used to express Er's wickedness is his own name, the letters reversed. Er ער wicked, רע ra. As if the inspired writer had said, "Er was altogether wicked, a completely abandoned character."

Psalms 119:11 — Versículo Salmo 119:11 . Tu palabra he escondido en mi corazón. 7. Debe atesorar aquellas porciones de la palabra de Dios en su mente y corazón que hablan en contra de toda clase de inmundicia; y que recomiendan la pureza, la castidad y la santidad. Proverbs 7:26 — Versículo Proverbios 7:26 . Porque ella ha derribado muchos heridos: sí, muchos hombres fuertes han sido muertos por ella.  Es decir, tales como las mujeres han sido la ruina de muchos. חללים chalalim , que hacemos heridos , también significa soldados o hombres de guerra;

Ecclesiastes 5:6 — Versículo Eclesiastés 5:6 . Ni digas delante del ángel, que fue un error. Ni pienses en decir "delante del ángel cruel, que ejercerá autoridad sobre ti en el juicio del gran día, que lo hiciste por ignorancia". - Caldeo . Creo que por el ángel no se pretende otra cosa que el sacerdote , cuyo oficio era tomar conocimiento de los votos y ofrendas. Ver Levítico 5:4-3 . En Malaquías 2:7 , el sacerdote es llamado el "ángel del Señor de los ejércitos".

Isaiah 37:36 — Versículo Isaías 37:36 . Entonces el ángel. Antes de "el ángel", la otra copia, 2 Reyes 19:35 , agrega "aconteció la misma noche, que"... El profeta Oseas, Oseas 1:7 , ha dado una clara predicción de la liberación milagrosa del reino de Judá: - Y a la casa de Judá seré tiernamente misericordioso: Y los salvaré por JEHOVÁ su Dios. Y no los salvaré con el arco; Ni por la espada, ni por la batalla; Por caballos, ni por jinetes." - L.

Jeremiah 10:7 — Versículo Jeremias 10:7 . ¿Quién no te temerá...? ¿Quién no te adorará como autor y dador de todo bien? El temor de Dios se toma a menudo como la totalidad de la verdadera religión . Entre todos los sabios de la nación. Ni aun los más sabios y cultivados de las naciones han encontrado jamás a alguien igual a ti; pero tan exaltado y santo eres tú, que en toda su sabiduría e investigación nunca han podido encontrar al Dios verdadero .

Ezekiel 39:7 — Versículo Ezequiel 39:7 . En medio de mi pueblo Israel. Esta derrota de Gog será en Israel: y fue allí según esta profecía, que el inmenso ejército de Antíoco fue derrotado tan completamente. Y no dejaré que profanen más mi santo nombre. Ver en 1 Mac 1:11,  cómo Antíoco había profanado el templo, insultado a Jehová y su adoración. Dios permitió eso como un azote para su pueblo desobediente, pero ahora el azotador será azotado, y no profanará más el santuario .

Ezekiel 41:7 — Versículo Ezequiel 41:7 . Una ampliación, y un torbellino alrededor. Tal vez una escalera de caracol que se ensanchaba hacia arriba a medida que la pared interior disminuía en espesor; siendo este muro de seis codos de espesor; de la altura del primer piso, cinco desde el piso del segundo piso hasta el del tercero, y cuatro desde el piso hasta el techo del tercer piso: y así había un descanso de un codo de ancho para sostener los pisos. - Recién llegado .

Amos 1:11 — Versículo Amós 1:11 . Por tres transgresiones de Edom. Que los edomitas (a pesar de lo que Calmet observa arriba del pacto fraternal ) fueron siempre enemigos implacables de los judíos, es bien sabido; pero lo más probable es que lo que el profeta tenía en mente era la parte que ellos tomaron en afligir a los judíos cuando Jerusalén fue sitiada y finalmente tomada por los caldeos. Véase Abdías 1:11 ; Ezequiel 25:12 ; Ezequiel 35:5 ; Salmo 137:7 .

Amos 3:7 — Versículo Amós 3:7 . Seguramente el Señor Dios no hará nada. En referencia al castigo, corrección o bendición de su pueblo- Pero él revela su secreto a sus siervos los profetas. Están en estricta correspondencia con él, y él les muestra las cosas por venir . Tales secretos de Dios les son revelados, para que puedan informar a la gente; para que, por el arrepentimiento y la conversión, eviten el mal y, caminando de cerca con Dios, aseguren la continuidad de su favor.

Micah 7:11 — Versículo Miqueas 7:11 . En el día que tus muros han de ser edificados. Esto se refiere a Jerusalén ; el decreto , al propósito de Dios de entregar al pueblo en cautiverio. "Esto estará muy lejos". Habiendo Dios propuesto su regreso, no puedo pensar, con algunos comentaristas, que este versículo contenga amenazas contra Jerusalén, y no promesas . Véase el primer capítulo de Hageo, Hageo 1:1 ,  donde el tema es similar y la restauración de Jerusalén es ciertamente lo que describe el profeta.

Nahum 2:7 — Versículo 7. Y Huzzab será llevado cautivo. Tal vez Huzzab se refiera a la reina de Nínive, que había escapado de la quema mencionada anteriormente por Diodoro. Como no se cuenta que la reina fuera quemada, sino sólo el rey, las concubinas y los eunucos, podemos, por tanto, concluir naturalmente que la reina escapó; y se la representa aquí como traída y entregada al conquistador; sus doncellas al mismo tiempo lamentando su suerte. Algunos piensan que Huzzab significa la propia Nínive.

Zechariah 12:12 — Versículo Zacarías 12:12 . Cada familia aparte. El significado de la palabra aparte , que se repite aquí tan a menudo, puede ser este: Su dolor será tan profundo y angustioso, que cada uno se esforzará por evitar a los demás, y desahogará su pena y angustia del alma en privado . E incluso los maridos y las mujeres se separarán en este luto general, como estaban obligados a hacerlo por ley en ciertas circunstancias. Véase 1 Corintios 7:5 y la nota allí.

Acts 10:7 — Verse Acts 10:7. And a devout soldier — It has already been remarked that Cornelius had taken care to instruct his family in Divine things; and it appears also that he had been attentive to the spiritual interests of his regiment. We do not find that it was then, even among the Romans, considered a disgrace for a military officer to teach his men lessons of morality, and piety towards God, whatever it may be in some Christian countries in the present time.

Acts 7:25 — Verse Acts 7:25. He supposed his brethren would have understood, c.] He probably imagined that, as he felt from the Divine influence he was appointed to be their deliverer, they would have his Divine appointment signified to them in a similar way and the act of justice which he now did in behalf of his oppressed countryman would be sufficient to show them that he was now ready to enter upon his office, if they were willing to concur.

2 Corinthians 2:13 — Verse 2 Corinthians 2:13. I had no rest in my spirit — I was so concerned for you, through the love I bear you, that I was greatly distressed because I did not find Titus returned to give me an account of your state.But taking my leave of them — I went thence into Macedonia, expecting to find him there; and thither he did come; and gave me a joyous account of your state. See 2 Corinthians 8:6; 2 Corinthians 8:7.

Galatians 1:7 — Verse 7. Which is not another — It is called a gospel, but it differs most essentially from the authentic narratives published by the evangelists. It is not gospel, i.e. good tidings, for it loads you again with the burdens from which the genuine Gospel has disencumbered you. Instead of giving you peace, it troubles you; instead of being a useful supplement to the Gospel of Christ, it perverts that Gospel. You have gained nothing but loss and damage by the change.

Titus 1:14 — Verse 14. Not giving heed to Jewish fables — See on 1 Timothy 1:4; 1 Timothy 4:7.Commandments of men — The injunctions of the scribes and Pharisees, which they added to the law of God.That turn from the truth. — For such persons made the word of God of none effect by their traditions. Sometimes the verb αποστρεφομαι signifies to be averse from, slight, or despise. So, here, the persons in question despised the truth, and taught others to do the same.

Revelation 7:2 — Verse Revelation 7:2. The seal of the living God — This angel is represented as the chancellor of the supreme King, and as ascending from the east, απο ανατολης ηλιου, from the rising of the sun. Some understand this of Christ, who is called ανατολη, the east, Luke 1:78.Four angels, to whom it was given to hurt — Particular agents employed by Divine providence in the management of the affairs of the earth; but whether spiritual or material we know not.
