Genesis 24:53 — he gave now appears to have been in the way of dowry.Precious things. — מגדנת migdanoth. This word is used to express exquisite fruits or delicacies, Deuteronomy 33:13-16; precious plants or flowers, Cant. Song of Solomon 4:16; Song of Solomon 7:13. But it may mean gifts in general, though rather of an inferior kind to those mentioned above.
Malachi 3:3 — his work.The sons of Levi — Those who minister in their stead under the NEW covenant, for the OLD Levitical institutions shall be abolished; yet, under the preaching of our Lord, a great number of the priests became obedient to the faith, Acts 6:7; and, as to the others that did not believe, this great Refiner threw them as dross into the Roman fire, that consumed both Jerusalem and the temple.
Matthew 26:64 — a few years, ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, fully invested with absolute dominion, and coming in the clouds of heaven, to execute judgment upon this wicked race. See Matthew 24:30. Our Lord appears to refer to Daniel 7:13: One like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, &c. This may also refer to the final judgment.
