Exodus 31:3 Verse Exodus 31:3. I have filled him with the spirit of God — Exodus 28:3.In wisdom — חכמה, chochmah, from חכם chacham, to be wise, skilful, or prudent, denoting the compass of mind and strength of capacity necessary to form a wise man: hence our word
2 Chronicles 4:5 is very possible that reference is here made to the Babylonish bath which might have been less than the Jewish. We have already seen that the cubit of Moses, or of the ancient Hebrews, was longer than the Babylonish by one palm; see on 2 Chronicles 3:3. It might be the same with the measures of capacity; so that two thousand of the ancient Jewish baths might have been equal to three thousand of those used after the captivity. The Targum cuts the knot by saying, "It received three thousand baths
Nehemiah 10:39 Verse Nehemiah 10:39. We will not forsake the house of our God. — Here was a glorious resolution; and had they been faithful to it, they had been a great and good people to the present day. But what is implied in, We will not forsake the house of our God? I answer:-I.
Proverbs 3:21 Verse Proverbs 3:21. Let not them depart from thine eyes — Never forget that God, who is the author of nature, directs and governs it in all things; for it is no self-determining agent.Keep sound wisdom and discretion — תושיה ומזמה tushiyah umezimmah. We
Hosea 3:3 Verse Hosea 3:3. Thou shalt abide for me many days — He did not take her home, but made a contract with her that, if she would abstain from her evil ways, he would take her to himself after a sufficient trial. In the meantime he gave her the money and the barley
Matthew 14:8 murdered forerunner of Jesus! and what a gratification for an adulterous wife, and incestuous mother! The disturber of her illicit pleasures, and the troubler of her brother-husband's conscience, is no more! Short, however, was their glorying! Matthew 14:3; Matthew 14:3.
Mark 1:2 reading was changed to ταιςπροφηταις, the prophets, that it might comprehend both. In one of ASSEMAN'S Syriac copies, both Isaiah and Malachi are mentioned. See all the authorities in Griesbach, 2d edit.; and see the parallel place in Matthew, Matthew 3:3, where the Prophet Isaiah is mentioned, which seems fully to establish the authority of this reading.

1 Corinthians 4:3 Verse 1 Corinthians 4:3. It is a very small thing that I should be judged of you — Those who preferred Apollos or Kephas before St. Paul, would of course give their reasons for this preference; and these might, in many instances, be very unfavourable to his character
1 Corinthians 4:3 Verso 1 Corintios 4:3 .
1 Timothy 3:8 deceit. This word might also be translated liars. Not given to much wine — Neither a drunkard, tippler, nor what is called a jovial companion. All this would be inconsistent with gravity. Not greedy of filthy lucre — See note on 1 Timothy 3:3.
ABC, otros cinco, con el copto, Vulgata , una copia de Itala , y Cirilo , tienen ουτε ἁλυκον γλυκυ ποιησαι ὑδωρ,

Revelation 5:5 Verse Revelation 5:5. The Lion of the tribe of Juda — Jesus Christ, who sprang from this tribe, as his genealogy proves; see on Matthew 1:2; Matthew 1:3 and Luke 3:33. There is an allusion here to Genesis 49:9, Judah is a lion's whelp; the lion was the emblem of this tribe, and was supposed to have been embroidered on its ensigns. The Root of David — See Isaiah 11:1.
