Song of Solomon 7:7 — Verse Song of Solomon 7:7. Like to a palm tree — Which is remarkably straight, taper, and elegant.And thy breasts to clusters of grapes.] Dates are the fruit of the palm tree; they grow in clusters; and it is these, not grapes, which are intended.

Daniel 10:7 — Verse Daniel 10:7. The men that were with me saw not the vision — An exactly parallel case with what occurred at the conversion of Saul of Tarsus, Acts 9:7. There was a Divine influence which they all felt, but only Daniel saw the corporeal appearance.

Deuteronomy 31:2 — in preaching righteousness to the antediluvian world. Mark 7:8 — Verse Mark 7:8. Washing of pots and cups, &c.] This whole clause is wanting in BL, five others, and the Coptic: one MS. omits this and the whole of the ninth verse. The eighth verse is not found in the parallel place of Matthew 15:7-9.

Luke 11:31 — Verse 31. The queen of the south, &c.] Perhaps it would be better to translate, A queen of the south, and the men of this race, shall rise up in judgment, &c. Luke 11:7; Luke 11:7. The 32d verse Luke 11:32 may be read in the same way.

John 11:30 — Verse 30. Jesus was not yet come into the town — As the Jewish burying places were without their cities and villages, it appears that the place where our Saviour was, when Martha met him, was not far from the place where Lazarus was buried. Luke 7:12; Luke 7:12.

John 6:7 — Verse John 6:7. Two hundred pennyworth — This sum, rating the denarius at 7 3/4d., would amount to 6£. 9s. 2d. of our money, and appears to have been more than our Lord and all his disciples were worth of this world's goods. See the notes on Matthew 18:28.

Acts 22:14 — Verse Acts 22:14. And see that Just One — The Lord Jesus, called the Just One, in opposition to the Jews, who crucified him as a malefactor: Acts 7:52; Acts 7:52. This is an additional proof that Jesus Christ did actually appear unto Saul of Tarsus.

Acts 7:7 — Verse Acts 7:7. Will I judge — κρινωεγω, I will punish, for in this sense the Greek word is frequently taken. "When," says Bp. Pearce, "a malefactor is brought before a judge, the judge does three things:1. he tries or judges him;2. he then gives his judgment

1 Corinthians 7:25 — Church at Corinth had asked the advice of the apostle. The word παρθενος, virgin, we take to signify a pure, unmarried young woman; but it is evident that the word in this place means young unmarried persons of either sex, as appears from 1 Corinthians 7:26; 1 Corinthians 7:27; 1 Corinthians 7:32-34, and from Revelation 14:4. Joshua 7:24 — Verse Joshua 7:24. Joshua - took Achan - and all that he had — He and his cattle and substance were brought to the valley to be consumed; his sons and his daughters, probably, to witness the judgments of God inflicted on their disobedient parent. See Joshua 7:25.
