Genesis 4:21 — Verse Genesis 4:21. Jubal - the father — i.e. The inventor of musical instruments, such as the כנור kinnor, which we translate harp, and the עוגב ugab, which we render organ; it is very likely that both words are generic, the former including under it all stringed instruments, and the latter, all wind instruments.

Psalms 104:4 — Versículo Salmo 104:4 . עשה מלאכיו רחות oseh malachaiv ruchoth, משרתיו אש להט mesharethaiv esh lohet. Jeremiah 36:4 — Versículo Jeremias 36:4 . Matthew 24:4 — Verso Mateo 24:4. Tengan cuidado de que nadie los engañe... El mundo está lleno de engañadores, y solo si prestan atención al consejo de Cristo, poque incluso sus seguidores pueden ser arruinados por ellos. Luke 3:5 — Verso Lucas 3:5. Acts 19:4 — Verse Acts 19:4. That they should believe on him which should come after — John baptized them with the baptism of repentance; this was common to all the baptisms administered by the Jews to proselytes; but telling them that they should believe on him who was coming, was peculiar to John's baptism.

Romans 12:4 — Verse Romans 12:4. For as we have many members — As the human body consists of many parts, each having its respective office, and all contributing to the perfection and support of the whole; each being indispensably necessary in the place which it occupies, and each equally useful though performing a different function;

2 Corinthians 4:11 — Verse 2 Corinthians 4:11. For we which live — And yet, although we are preserved alive, we are in such continual dangers that we carry our life in our hands, and are constantly in the spirit of sacrifice. But the life-the preserving power, of Christ is manifest in our continual support.

1 John 1:4 — Verse 1 John 1:4. That your joy may be full. — Ye have already tasted that the Lord is good; but I am now going to show you the height of your Christian calling, that your happiness may be complete, being thoroughly cleansed from all sin, and filled with the fulness of God.

1 John 4:16 — Verse 16. God is love — See note on 1 John 4:8. He that dwelleth in love-he who is full of love to God and man is full of God, for God is love; and where such love is, there is God, for he is the fountain and maintainer of it.

Revelation 4:6 — Verse Revelation 4:6. Four beasts — τεσσαρα ζωα Four living creatures or four animals. The word beast is very improperly used here and elsewhere in this description. Wiclif first used it, and translators in general have followed him in this uncouth rendering. A beast before the throne of God in heaven sounds oddly.
