2 Kings 25:18 — Verse 2 Kings 25:18. Seraiah the chief priest - Zephaniah — The person who is here called the second priest was what the Jews call sagan, a sort of deputy, who performed the functions of the high priest when he was prevented by any infirmity from attending the temple service. See on 2 Kings 23:4.

2 Kings 25:18 — Versículo 2 Reyes 25:18 . 1 Chronicles 14:4 — Verse 1 Chronicles 14:4. These are the names of his children — In 2 Samuel 5:14-16, eleven persons only are mentioned in the Hebrew text, but the Septuagint has twenty-four, here there are thirteen, and all the versions have the same number, with certain varieties in the names. - See the notes there.

Ezra 3:4 — Verse Ezra 3:4. They kept also the feast of tabernacles, as it is written — This began on the fifteenth day of the seventh month; but they had begun the regular offerings from the first day of this month, Ezra 3:6. And these were religiously continued all the time they were building the temple.

Ezra 4:20 — Verse 20. Beyond the river — That is, the Euphrates. Both David and Solomon carried their conquests beyond this river. See 2 Samuel 8:3, c., and 1 Kings 4:21, where it is said, Solomon reigned over all kingdoms from the river (Euphrates) unto the land of the Philistines and unto the borders of Egypt.

Ezra 4:5 — Verso Esdras 4:5 . Ezra 5:4 — Verse Ezra 5:4. What are the names — It is most evident that this is the answer of the Jews to the inquiry of Tatnai, Ezra 5:3, and the verse should be read thus: Then said we unto them after this manner: THESE are the names of the men who make this building.

Deuteronomy 17:17 — Verse Deuteronomy 17:17. Neither shall he multiply wives — For this would necessarily lead to foreign alliances, and be the means of introducing the manners and customs of other nations, and their idolatry also. Solomon sinned against this precept, and brought ruin on himself and on the land by it; see 1 Kings 11:4.

Deuteronomy 27:15 — Versículo Deuteronomio 27:15 . Maldito sea el hombre.  Otras leyes, hechas con anterioridad, habían prohibido todas estas cosas y se entendían necesariamente las sanciones penales; pero aquí Dios declara más abiertamente que el que los quebranta es maldito , cae bajo la ira y la indignación de su Hacedor y Juez. John 4:16 — Verso Juan 4:16. Llama a tu esposo...  Nuestro Señor parece haber dicho estas palabras con dos propósitos: 1. Hacer que la mujer considerara su propio estado. 2. Mostrarle que conocía su corazón y las acciones secretas de su vida; y por lo tanto estaba bien capacitado para enseñarle las verdades celestiales.

Colossians 1:4 — Verso Colosenses 1:4 . Ya que oímos de vuestra fe...  Esto es muy similar a Efesios 1:15 . Y es cierto que el apóstol parece haber considerado la iglesia de Éfeso y la de Colassa casi en el mismo estado, ya que las dos epístolas son muy similares en su doctrina y fraseología.

Revelation 4:10 — Versículo Apocalipsis 4:10 . Arrojan sus coronas ante el trono.  Reconocen la supremacía infinita de Dios, y que han derivado su ser y sus bendiciones solo de él. Esta es una alusión a la costumbre de las postraciones en el este, y al homenaje de los pequeños reyes reconociendo la supremacía del emperador.

1 Samuel 6:4 — Verse 1 Samuel 6:4. Five golden emerods, and five golden mice — One for each satrapy. The emerods had afflicted their bodies; the mice had marred their land. Both, they considered, as sent by God; and, making an image of each, and sending them as a trespass-offering, they acknowledged this. See at the end.

2 Samuel 2:4 — Verse 2 Samuel 2:4. Anointed David king — He was anointed before by Samuel, by which he acquired jus ad regnum, a right TO the kingdom; by the present anointing he had jus in regno, authority OVER the kingdom. The other parts of the kingdom were, as yet, attached to the family of Saul.
