Exodus 17:11 — up his hand — We cannot understand this transaction in any literal way; for the lifting up or letting down the hands of Moses could not, humanly speaking, influence the battle. It is likely that he held up the rod of God in his hand, Exodus 17:9, as an ensign to the people. We have already seen that in prayer the hands were generally lifted up and spread out, (Exodus 9:29,) and therefore it is likely that by this act prayer and supplication are intended. 1 Chronicles 9:4 — Versículo 1 Crónicas 9:4 . Nehemiah 8:9 — Versículo Nehemías 8:9 . Job 31:5 — Versículo Job 31:5 . Si he andado en vanidad. Si he sido culpable de idolatría , o de adoración de un dios falso : porque así שאו shau, que aquí traducimos vanidad , se usa Jeremias 18:15 ; (compárese con Salmo 31:6 ; Oseas 12:11 ; y Jonás 2:9 ) y parece evidente que todo el discurso de Job aquí es una vindicación de sí mismo de todas las disposiciones y prácticas idólatras.

Es decir, no hay ninguna razón conocida por mí, ni por ningún hombre, por la que deba ser afligido tan opresivamente. Es, por tanto, cruel e inconsecuente afirmar que sufro por mis crímenes.

Psalms 69:9 — Versículo Salmo 69:9 . El celo de tu casa me ha consumido. El fuerte deseo de promover tu gloria ha absorbido a todos los demás. Todos los deseos de mi cuerpo y alma están envueltos en esto. Este versículo se aplica muy apropiadamente a nuestro Señor, Juan 2:17 , quien anduvo haciendo bienes ; y entregó su vida, no sólo por la redención del hombre, sino para "engrandecer la ley y engrandecerla".

See Hosea 7:8-9. Their lasting captivity was the consequence of their wickedness and their apostasy from the religion of their fathers. On this explication Hosea 7:4-9, may be easily understood.
