Psalms 104:7 Versículo Salmo 104:7 . A tu reprensión huyeron.
Hosea 9:7 Verse Hosea 9:7. The days of visitation — Of punishment are come. The prophet is a fool — Who has pretended to foretell, on Divine authority, peace and plenty; for behold all is desolation. The spiritual man — איש הרוח ish haruach, the man of spirit, who was ever pretending to be under a Divine afflatus. Is mad — He is now enraged to see every thing falling out contrary to his prediction.
Joel 3:7 Verse 7. I will raise them — I shall find means to bring them back from the place whither ye have sold them, and they shall retaliate upon you the injuries they have sustained. It is said that Alexander and his successors set at liberty many Jews that had been sold into Greece. And it is likely that many returned from different lands, on the publication of the edict of Cyrus. - Newcome.
Amos 8:2 Verse Amos 8:2. A basket of summer fruit — כלוב קיץ kelub kayits; the end is come - בא הקץ ba hakkets: here is a paronomasia or play upon the words kayits, summer fruit, and kets, the end, both coming from similar roots. Ezekiel 7:2, where there is a similar play on the same word.I will not again pass by them any more. — I will be no longer their Guardian.
Micah 7:14 Verse Micah 7:14. Feed thy people with thy rod — בשבטך beshibtecha, "with thy crook." The shepherd's crook is most certainly designed, as the word flock immediately following shows. No rod of correction or affliction is here intended; nor does the word mean such.Solitarily — They have been long without a shepherd or spiritual governor. In the midst of Carmel — Very fruitful in vines.Bashan and Gilead — Proverbially fruitful in pasturages.
Habakkuk 2:7 Verse 7. Shall they not rise up suddenly — Does not this refer to the sudden and unexpected taking of Babylon by Cyrus, whose troops entered into the city through the bed of the Euphrates, whose waters they had diverted by another channel; so that the Babylonians knew nothing of the matter till they saw the Persian soldiers rise up as in a moment, in the very heart of their city?
Matthew 12:7 Verse Matthew 12:7. I will have mercy, &c. — See this explained, Matthew 9:13. There are four ways in which positive laws may cease to oblige.First, by the natural law of necessity.Secondly, by a particular law, which is superior.Thirdly, by the law of charity and mercy.Fourthly, by the dispensation and authority of the Lawgiver. These cases are all exemplified from Matthew 12:4-8.
Matthew 19:11 Verse Matthew 19:11. All - cannot receive this saying — A very wise answer, and well suited to the present circumstances of the disciples. Neither of the states is condemned. If thou marry, thou dost well-this is according to the order, will, and commandment of God. But if thou do not marry, (because of the present necessity, persecution, worldly embarrassments, or bodily infirmity,) thou dost better. See 1 Corinthians 7:25.
John 7:11 Verse John 7:11. Then the Jews sought him — By Jews here are to be understood the scribes, Pharisees, and rulers of the people, and not the inhabitants of the province of Judea. It appears, from the following verses, that many of the people were prejudiced in his favour, but they dared not to own it publicly for fear of the Jews, i.e. for fear of the rulers of the people.
John 7:40 Verse 40. Of a truth this is the Prophet. — The great prophet, or teacher, spoken of by Moses, Deuteronomy 18:15, which they improperly distinguished from the Messiah, John 7:41. Some no doubt knew that by the prophet, the Messiah was meant; but others seem to have thought that one of the ancient prophets should be raised from the dead, and precede the appearing of the Messiah.
Acts 5:16 Verse Acts 5:16. Sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits — Here it is evident that sick people are distinguished from those who were vexed with unclean spirits; and therefore they were not one and the same thing. The same distinction is made Matthew 4:24; Matthew 10:1; Mark 1:32, Mark 1:34; Mark 16:17-18; and Luke 4:40-41; Luke 7:21.
Acts 7:46 Verse 46. Desired to find a tabernacle — This was in David's heart, and it met with the Divine approbation: see 2 Samuel 7:2, c., and see the purpose, Psalms 132:2-5 but, as David had been a man of war, and had shed much blood, God would not permit him to build the temple; but he laid the plan and made provision for it, and Solomon executed the design.
Romans 7:10 Verse Romans 7:10. And the commandment — Meaning the law in general, which was ordained to life; the rule of righteousness teaching those statutes which if a man do he shall live in them, Leviticus 18:5, I found, by transgressing it, to be unto death; for it only presented the duty and laid down the penalty, without affording any strength to resist sin or subdue evil propensities.
Ephesians 3:7 Verse 7. Whereof I was made a minister — διακονος. A deacon, a servant acting under and by the direction of the great Master, Jesus Christ; from whom, by an especial call and revelation, I received the apostolic gifts and office, and by την ενεργειαντηςδυναμεωςαυτου, the energy, the in-working of his power, this Gospel which I preached was made effectual to the salvation of vast multitudes of Jews and Gentiles.
1 Thessalonians 4:7 Verse 7. God hath not called us unto uncleanness — He is the creator of male and female, and the institutor of marriage, and he has called men and women to this state; but the end of this and all the other callings of God to man is holiness, not uncleanness. And they who use the marriage state as he directs, will find it conducive to their holiness and perfection.
Revelation 7:9 Verse Revelation 7:9. A great multitude — This appears to mean the Church of Christ among the Gentiles, for it was different from that collected from the twelve tribes; and it is here said to be of all nations, kindreds, people, and tongues.Clothed with white robes — As emblems of innocence and purity. With palms in their hands, in token of victory gained over the world, the devil, and the flesh.
