Genesis 24:62 — Verse Genesis 24:62. And Isaac came — Concerning this well see Genesis 16:13-14, &c. As it appears from Genesis 25:11, that Isaac dwelt at the well Lahai-roi, it has been conjectured that he had now come on a visit to his aged father at Beersheba, where he waited in expectation of his bride.For he dwelt in the south country. — The southern part of the land of Canaan. See Genesis 12:9.

Proverbs 8:9 — Versículo Proverbios 8:9 . Todos ellos son simples. נכחים nechochim , directos, frente a cada hombre, nivelados para cada capacidad. Esto es cierto en todo lo que concierne a la salvación del alma. A los que hallan conocimiento. ] Cuando un hombre obtiene el conocimiento de sí mismo , entonces ve que todas las advertencias de Dios son correctas . Ecclesiastes 8:9 — Versículo Eclesiastés 8:9 . Isaiah 48:9 — Versículo Isaías 48:9 . Y para mi alabanza - "Y para mi alabanza". leí ולמען תהלתי ulemaan tehillathi . La palabra למען lemaan , aunque no es absolutamente necesaria aquí, ya que puede entenderse como proporcionada por el miembro anterior, parece haber sido eliminada de aquí a Isaías 48:11 ; donde es redundante y donde no se repite en la Septuaginta, el siríaco y un manuscrito. Por lo tanto, lo omití en este último lugar y lo agregué aquí.

Jeremiah 38:9 — Versículo Jeremias 38:9 . Mi señor el rey, estos hombres han hecho mal. Debe haber tenido mucha confianza en el rey, y un hombre humano y de espíritu noble, para haber alzado su voz contra la poderosa cábala ya mencionada. Jonah 3:9 — Versículo Jonás 3:9 . ¿Quién puede decir si Dios se volverá y se arrepentirá? Existe al menos una posibilidad para nuestra salvación. Dios puede volverse hacia nosotros, cambiar su propósito y salvarnos con vida. Mientras hay vida hay esperanza; Dios no se complace en la muerte de los pecadores; es clemente y compasivo. Él mismo ha prescrito el arrepentimiento; si nos arrepentimos y nos volvemos a él de nuestras iniquidades, quién sabe entonces si Dios no se volverá.

Micah 2:3 — Verse Micah 2:3. Against this family (the Israelites) do I devise an evil — You have devised the evil of plundering the upright; I will devise the evil to you of punishment for your conduct; you shall have your necks brought under the yoke of servitude. Tiglath-pileser ruined this kingdom, and transported the people to Assyria, under the reign of Hezekiah, king of Judah; and Micah lived to see this catastrophe. See on Micah 2:9.

Malachi 1:4 — Versículo Malaquías 1:4 . Matthew 26:54 — Versículo 54. Pero, ¿cómo entonces? ¿Si tuviera tal defensa, se cumplirían las Escrituras, que dicen que así debe ser?  Es decir, que he de sufrir y morir por el pecado del mundo. Probablemente las Escrituras a las que nuestro Señor se refiere principalmente son los Salmo 22, Salmo 69, y especialmente Isaías 53, y   Daniel 9:24. Cristo muestra que no tenían ningún poder contra él sino el que él permitía; y que se entregó voluntariamente en sus manos.

Matthew 9:26 — Verse Matthew 9:26. And the fame hereof went abroad — In this business Jesus himself scarcely appears, but the work effected by his sovereign power is fully manifested; to teach us that it is the business of a successful preacher of the Gospel to conceal himself as much as possible, that God alone may have the glory of his own grace. This is a proper miracle, and a full exemplification of the unlimited power of Christ.

Luke 10:2 — Verso Lucas 10:2. Que envíe... εκβαλη. Parece haber aquí una alusión al caso de los segadores, que, aunque la cosecha estaba perfectamente madura, no tenían prisa por cortarla. Se lleva la noticia al Señor de la mies, el agricultor, y se le ruega que ejerza su autoridad, y los apresure a salir; y esto lo hace porque la mies se está echando a perder por falta de ser segada y recogida. Luke 9:11 — Verse Luke 9:11. The people - followed him — Observe here five grand effects of Divine grace.1. The people are drawn to follow him.2. He kindly receives them.3. He instructs them in the things of God.4. He heals all their diseases.5. He feeds their bodies and their souls. See Quesnel.Reader! Jesus is the same to the present moment. Follow him, and he will receive, instruct, heal, feed, and save thy soul unto eternal life.

Luke 9:11 — Verso Lucas 9:11. La gente - lo siguió... Observe aquí cinco grandes efectos de la gracia Divina. 1. La gente se siente atraída por seguirle . 2. Él amablemente los recibe . 3. John 12:46 — Verse 46. I am come a light into the world — Probably referring to what his forerunner had said, John 1:5. Before the coming of this Saviour, this sun of righteousness, into the world, all was darkness: at his rising the darkness is dispersed; but it only profits those whose eyes are open to receive the rays of this sun of righteousness. See on John 1:5; John 3:19; John 8:12; John 9:5.

Acts 9:42 — Verse Acts 9:42. Many believed in the Lord. — That is, in Christ Jesus, in whose name and through whose power they understood this miracle to be wrought. This miracle, as well as that at Lydda, was not only the means of strengthening the faith of the disciples, and gaining credit to the cause of Christianity, but also of bringing many sincere converts to the Lord, so that the Church was thereby both builded up and multiplied.

1 Corinthians 9:11 — Verse 1 Corinthians 9:11. If we have sown unto you spiritual things — If we have been the means of bringing you into a state of salvation by the Divine doctrines which we have preached unto you, is it too much for us to expect a temporal support then we give ourselves up entirely to this work? Every man who preaches the Gospel has a right to his own support and that of his family while thus employed.

1 Corinthians 9:3 — Verso 1 Corintios 9:3 . Mi respuesta a ellos...  Ἡ εμη απολογια τοις εμε ανακρινουσιν· Esta es mi defensa contra los que me examinan. Las palabras son del tipo jurídico, y el apóstol se considera a sí mismo como si fuera llevado ante un tribunal legal, e interrogado para ser obligado a responder como bajo juramento. Su defensa, por lo tanto, fue esta: que se convirtieron a Dios por sus medios. Este verso pertenece a los dos versos anteriores.

Galatians 1:13 — Verse 13. Ye have heard of my conversation — τηνεμην αναστροφην. My manner of life; the mode in which I conducted myself.Beyond measure I persecuted the Church — For proofs of this the reader is referred to Acts 9:1-2 (note); Acts 22:4 (note), and the notes there. The apostle tells them that they had heard this, because, being Jews, they were acquainted with what had taken place in Judea, relative to these important transactions.

Galatians 1:9 — Verse 9. Let him be accursed. — Perhaps this is not designed as an imprecation, but a simple direction; for the word here may be understood as implying that such a person should, have no countenance in his bad work, but let him, as Theodoret expresses it, Αλλοτριος εστω του κοινου σωματος της εκκλησιας, be separated from the communion of the Church. This, however, would also imply that unless the person repented, the Divine judgments would soon follow.
