1 Kings 22:2
came down. In every sense of the word; and this after 2 Chronicles 17:1 . First was the matrimonial alliance (2 Chronicles 18:1 ), compare 2 Kings 8:18 ; and then the military alliance (1 Kings 22:4 and 2 Chronicles 18:3 ). No mention here of the former, which was the secret cause that led up to it. Both fatal. Compare the commercial alliance of Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20:35-37 , and the experience gained by Jehoshaphat in Ch. 1Ki 22:48 , 1 Kings 22:49 .
1 Chronicles 24:7

Jehoiarib. The twenty-four courses took, and kept, the names of these first heads (verses: 1 Chronicles 24:7-18 ). Each officiated a week (Sabbath to Sabbath), and Zacharias belonged to the eighth (Luke 1:5 ). Compare Nehemiah 12:0 . Solomon appointed the same courses, which were continued by Hezekiah and Josiah. captains of thousands. The host comprised all males over twenty. From this were organized twelve divisions of 24,000 men, commanded by twelve of the thirty. Long ago his name was given; And it is understood what [that name was,]-- It was Adam": which means vegetable mould, made in the likeness of Elohim, Genesis 1:27 ; Genesis 2:7 ; Genesis 5:1 , Genesis 5:2 . Jeremiah 46:1 the most part in the fourth year of Jehoiakim (see App-86 ), and may have been included in the roll of Jeremiah 36:0 . This section may be compared with Isaiah's "burdens" and "woes" (compare p. 930), and Ezekiel (Jeremiah 25:32 ), and Amos (Jeremiah 1:1 , Jeremiah 1:2 ).
